Final Demonstration

Heather: Initiated planning for our final demonstration. She constructed the entire PowerPoint, incorporated multiple videos of herself and other YouTube videos. She also, revised our Program Design based on feedback from Dr. Chang, peers, and professional evaluations and proceeded to create numerous documents that outline the activities that are described in our program design.
I commented on Behaviorist Learning and Narrative Learning.

Bridgit: Reviewed previous semester's blogs for inspiration, researched performance evaluations and created our performance evaluation document, created our training flyer/advertisement, and created a video discussing the benefits of having an activity around mock interview and mock panel interviewing
I commented on Group 4 Embodied Learning and Group 6 Behaviorist Learning.

Allison: Produced the final Survival Memo Video, which is included in a YouTube link below. She also proofed and edited the PowerPoint and embedded it to our blog; proofed and edited the activities documents that accompany our Program Design and embedded them to our blog; and proofed our finalized program design and embedded it to our blog.
I commented on...Group 2 Transformational Learning and Group 1 Self Directed Learning (7)

Will: Produced the final audio/video narrative for our final project, which is included in a YouTube link below. Will also contributed to updating our Program Design, our PowerPoint, and created activities to accompany our program design.
Group 1 - Self Directed Learning and Group 5 - Narrative Learning

Welcome to our final demonstration! This is a product which our team has devoted many hours to and each of us are incredibly proud of it; we hope that you will see why. We believe this program design could truly be a viable tool to support supervisors-in-training and we trust that our final demonstration will exhibit that. Due to the number and size of the supplemental videos and audios, we have removed them from our PowerPoint and provided links within the presentation which will allow the reader to explore them.

Below you can view our Final Demonstration PowerPoint which outlines, in detail, how we created our program from start to finish! As you review our PowerPoint, please keep your eye out for the Blogger symbol. When you see it, it means we have a link in our blog to a supporting document.

Experiential Learning Final Demonstration from adwynbissing

Below you will find links to an audio file, which was produced by team member, Will. In this audio, Will describes our final project and how we went about working through the stages of forming, storming, norming and got to performing.
The Final Project: A Narrative

Below you will find a link to a video file, which was produced by team member, Allison. In this video, Allison describes the tips and tools which our group would recommend future students in EDAC 634 consider if they want to be successful. Many of the things that are described our group did, but there are some things we learned "the hard way" and offer as a means of "learn from us." We hope future learners find it helpful.
Survival Memo

Below you will find a number of documents that are referenced in our Program Design and Power Point. While it was not necessarily required to create the tools that would be used in our Program Design, our group did. We hope that you find the documents below to be useful in seeing the "big picture" of our program!

The last item to view is our revised Program Design. After taking all of the feedback we received into consideration, we made numerous changes to our original design, which was posted on our blog.  We are embedding this updated document for your review as well.

We appreciate you taking the time to visit our blog and welcome your constructive feedback!

  1. Your program changed reflect the input! I like the direction you have taken and the practical application. The advise provided in the survival video will be useful to incoming students, I will have to investigate google docs for my own future group classes!

  2. Hello, Heather, Bridgit, Allison, and Will, your final demonstration certainly unveiled the effort you all contributed to the project.

The videos and audio were a nice break from reading slides. As I listened and read your final demonstration, I could not help but relive my experiences in new hire orientation with the exception of a reflection. In my 25 years in business the only feedback a manager/supervisor formally requests is during an annual review. Reflection would be useful throughout the year.

Thank you for including sample documents of journals, surveys, highlighting mistakes, etc. I especially found the video on the Top 10 Behavioral Interview Questions enlightening. I had a manager who asked me two of the 10 questions: #6, What is the title of the last book you read? and #9, What motivates me? I never considered the responses to have an effect in my role, but now I understand why he asked the questions. He was one of my best managers. He truly managed with his subordinate’s best interest in mind.

Our group also benefitted by using Google docs. One repository certainly avoided double work and saved time in circulating the work via email. Your survival memo was similar to our suggestions, specifically embracing the syllabus and communication. Both are imperative to a successful semester. Prospective students will appreciate the recommendations, so long as they read and listen to the ideas.

As Will stated, “Everyone can learn something from someone.” Your program allows participants the opportunity to begin consideration of how to apply the training material to the real-world. Your Blog will be a useful asset to me in the future when either preparing for a job interview or conducting an interview, or training.

    Be well,
    Laverne

  3. Great job, Group 3! Please forgive me if my comments post twice! I posted comments earlier, but they seem to have vanished.

I really like how you included links to other information inside your PowerPoint. This made the finale demonstration more organized, and it allows viewers to explore areas of particular interest to them without having to look at everything.

Your brochure is colorful and neatly done. Will there be both a printed and a digital version? If so, you could include a link to your site on the digital version, which will make further exploration easier for the people who are reading the brochure.

  4. Heather, Bridgit, Allison, and Will,

I really like how thorough your project is and that your group did much more than we required in this course!

It is the first time I saw that students shared the tips/methods in the presentation through notes. This is more like experts’ sharing their thought process! Excellent work!

Excellent final project introduction and survival memo! It is especially important for future students to know how to work productively with other group members. Positive attitude and great commitment definitely are important for successful group work. I also like the additional resources you shared with us!

    Suggestions:

    1. I like how detailed you provided in your program design activities! You can move the majority of this part to your program design paper and add the link of your program design paper to your final PPT presentation, instead of listing everything in the final presentation. This will make the final presentation clear and precise. Adding videos in your program design paper will make your program design very interesting.

    2. In your presentation, add the information about Evaluation since this is one part of your group project too.

    3. In your presentation, you can briefly introduce the content in each slide, and then use your voice to introduce the details, instead of adding so many words in one slide. In PowerPoint, you should be able to easily record your voice in each slide.
    4. Try to make the length of the videos within 5 minutes.

  6. I really like the web site overall. I think the Final Demonstration was well-organized with great information. It did feel a little lengthy, but maybe it's because I was reading slow. Overall, I think your group did an outstanding job.

  7. This demonstration is amazing! I am definitely going to bookmark this and come back to it in the future. There are so many great original documents too - I think that really speaks to how well your group worked together! I also really liked your power point, especially how it was very informative, but also conversational. Once again, awesome job!
